Cookie jar covers - folded roses
I have found a new LOVE!!

Saturday 24th April 2010 was a special day because I went to Basic Ribbon Embroidery course, conducted by the esteemed Puan Suzana Mustafa aka Puan Ann.

I was supposed to attend the course in Feb 2010 but I wound up having to postpone it due to my little incident with hot water.

Puan Ann is a renowned craft enthusiast in Malaysia particularly in RE and has authored 2 books on the subject. She is working on her 3rd book, which deals with advanced RE techniques.

The RM200 fee was very cheap in comparison to the amount of knowledge I acquired from the course. And the tools and supply were more than enough to make extra projects. An RE book by Pn Ann (worth RM39) was included too.

We learned how to make folded roses, web roses, carnations, sunflowers/daisies, blossoms, and a few other stitches, as well as how to make the leaves and the stems.

I was having a problem with the folded rose technique using the supplied satin ribbon. Pn Ann said that it's easier using stripped ribbon (which was not part of the supply given).

On Monday, without further delay, I bought the stripped ribbons, and it works like folded roses just take shape according to my fingers movement.

Take a peek at my produce above. I've been "ribboning" every single spare time that I have. My target, to produce the cookies container jars for Hari Raya for myself and as a gift to relatives and friends.

One more thing, since I have to buy all the supply in bulk quantity, I'm selling the remaining supply in this website. So check out the Ribbon Embroidery tab.
